Christened Daniel Morris Nyarko 21st December 1982 and known in the showbiz cycles as Kobby.  He was born on Tuesday and hails from Kwahu-Obomeng in the Eastern Region of the Republic of Ghana. Bred in the capital city Accra, he had his basic education at the Jacobs Preparatory School and continued at the Institute of Divine Education, Korle-Gorno. He proceeded to the Koforidua Secondary Technical School and later to the Takoradi Polytechnic where he studied Building Technology and HND in Building Engineering respectively. Notwithstanding the different trades in mind when growing up (which included football, athletics etc.), the then “young” Daniel (Kobby) identified his exploits in singing and joined the local junior choir at the Abeka Christian Church where he worshiped. Back in the secondary school, he also performed in both his school and other schools throughout the Eastern Region and others, most especially the Greater Accra Region.

Kobby’s shot to the music scene got started during his days at the Takoradi Polytechnic where he recorded his demo and later teamed up with two others to form the group, “OJA” to contest in the maiden Nescafe African Revelation. Following the group’s Nescafe music reality show’s success, they (Kobby and Peevee])sealed a professional recording deal with leading record label outfit in Ghana, G-String Entertainment and performed under the name “Wutah” until both agreed and announced going solo in June 2010.

Currently with three albums (“Anamontuo”, “Burning Desire” and “Selfless Bliss”) to his credit, the ace singer shares the two former albums with Peevee and fully owns the latter as a solo artiste, which he released in September 2011 and was made available on iTunes in March 2012. The “Selfless Bliss” man has performed on big stages both locally and internationally with acts like Kelvin Little, Wayne Wonder, Shaggy and Jay Z.

Anamontuo (meaning Exodus) – the maiden album was released in 2004 and produced hit songs like “Goosy-gander”, “Adonko”, “Big dreams” and many hit songs.   Burning Desire – the second album as a duo was released in late 2008 and also had the hit song “Kotosa”.  In January 2011 as a solo artiste, Kobby released “Tsotsoo”.  “Selfless Bliss” – the maiden album by Kobby as a solo artiste was released in and produced hits like “Tsotsoo”, “Ambulance”, and “Odo Yewu” with the latter two featuring Sarkodie and Kwabena Kwabena respectively.

His first single song for the year 2012, “Chio Chioo” on the Album “God and Love” received massive airtime play in Ghana, the UK and beyond. The eighteen (18) track-album [including instrumentals of “Ambulance” and “Tsotsoo” was released on iTunes in 2012 and also has other hits like “Affection”, “Pretty Lady”, “Made Me Glad”, “Champagne” and more. His second album “God and Love ” has hits like 1.Father for all, which is a gospel song, and very brilliantly written and vocally delivered hits songs like 2.chio chioo 3. Piiporpii 4.Minshee Daa 5.Me Ji No Di . 6.Sweet and Sour Making head lines in news papers with enlightening reggae songs 1.We na want friends from dem , and also Me ji no Di -as a women empowering song campaign dubbed “Trust your woman”.  He has also created a new Genre of music called Afro Country Music. Which is a rhythmic infusing of acoustic instruments mainly the guitar with all other genres of music experimentally.  He has also written hit songs like Zuuchia and Kabila by Dancehall artist Kaaki and Songstress Irene Logan respectfully 4 nominations.
