“Putting Artists on the World’s Stage”

Niisha K. Butler, is the Founder & CEO of We Global Arts Festival, LLC.

Born in Harlem, New York, raised in the South Bronx, Ms. Butler’s family exposed her to a myriad of music styles. Genres such as Gospel, Salsa, Merengue, R&B, Jazz, Reggae, Calypso and especially Hip-Hop music helped her give voice to the complexities of the world around her. As she developed her own steadfast personal conviction for confronting social/cultural injustice, she realized her passion for music was a perfect platform to discuss issues concerning equality and political change.

Her passion for music coupled, with her law degree, led Ms. Butler to become an Entertainment Lawyer. She has successfully represented and advised various music artists, models, actors, record producers, screenwriters, and entertainment industries executives. She consults with and has hands-on experience with music, film, television, modeling, art, and multimedia events.

Ms. Butler’s work as an Entertainment Lawyer afforded her the opportunity to travel abroad meeting and representing musicians, fashion designers, photographers, painters, disc jockeys, filmmakers, and many other types of artists. Her travels around the globe opened her to music beyond the streets of New York City – to Accra, San Juan, Tokyo, Lagos, and Rio! As she traveled, she realized she had a prime opportunity to create an international platform that showcases talented artists. It is from this vision, We Global Arts Festival, LLC (“WGAF”) was born.

Her concept is unique in that it creates an environment for art lovers around the world to learn about the artists and their background, gain insight into the issues that influence their art, and gain a deeper connection with the artists. Simultaneously, WGAF will help artists gain entrepreneurship skills so that they can earn a sustainable living from their creativity and passion. It is her earnest desire that WGAF will bridge the gap between artists in the African Diaspora and the wider global arts community.

WGAF’s mission is to inspire, motivate, educate and promote the exchange of ideas, art, talent and music between artists and fans throughout the world! WGAF is dedicated to demonstrating global and universal love through fostering community outreach, such as its young artist mentoring initiative.

Through the formation of WGAF, Ms. Butler is achieving a dearly held life goal by blessing the world with the most culturally diverse music festival on the planet!

Ms. Butler received her bachelor’s degree with departmental honors from Hamilton College, Clinton, New York and earned her law degree from American University, Washington College of Law, Washington, DC.
